Sessions are conducted by speech language pathologists certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association
(ASHA). Prospective group participants will be screened prior to a more in-depth interview. Interview is included in the cost of the program.
Socially Speaking
is designed to:
Provide a structured learning approach to social skills based on Goldstein and Stein
(McGinnis and Goldstein, 1997)
Provide direct instruction of skills through verbal, written and pictorial explanation.
Allow for modeling of skills and role-playing with coaching and corrective feedback
Provide practice assignments to accomplish new skills in the real world where it counts.
Particulars:
12 week group program meeting once weekly. Each session is one hour.

Program Components Include:
Pre and post-program review of the participant's social skills
Skills training lessons
Social activities to promote generalization and practice
Incentive programs to promote participation and completion of practice assignments
Social skills handouts with step by step directions to promote successful carry-over of skills
